Residents of the District of Sechelt are on their own when it comes to curbside recycling.
The District has cancelled the pick up of the blue bins because they couldn’t reach an agreement with Direct Disposal to process the material.
Back on June 28th, Direct Disposal notified the District that it would no longer process recyclables.
The District has been unable to find a viable alternative and so, for now, curbside collection is suspended.
The Districts’ Connie Jordison says residents are being asked to take their recycling to the Salish Soils depot….
The two sides had been talking about a new contract since March of 2015.
