Medical Health Officers are urging people to make sure they are fully immunized against mumps.
Vancouver Coastal Health has had more than 40 cases of mumps in the Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler areas.

Hayden says those born between 1970 and 1996 may have only received one dose of the mumps vaccine.
If you’re not sure if you are fully vaccinated, Hayden says there’s no harm in getting the shot just in case.
