Grade 12 “game” concerns RCMP and School District

Neither the RCMP nor the Nanaimo Ladysmith Public Schools are endorsing a game underway in the Harbour City involving Grade 12 students.

Police are advising the public of a game involving Grade 12 students across Nanaimo, called “Shoot to kill”.

The game involves competitors being assigned a “target” and to win the competition, the target must be hit with a burst of water from a water gun.

The person with the most confirmed “hits” or “kills” wins the competition that runs until the end of June.

RCMP say in previous years the “game” led, in some situations, to police involvement.

Mounties say the general public should not discount suspicious behaviour in a neighbourhood as being part of the Grade 12 activity.
