The numbers don't lie, dwindling reserves force Gibsons to up water/sewer charges

Gibsons says the numbers aren’t adding up when it comes to the water and sewer systems.

Council has voted to change the fee structure for water to bring in 10 per-cent more revenue in 2014.  They’re also increasing sewer parcel taxes and user fees by 9 per cent.

Mayor Wayne Rowe says they’re facing a cash crunch when it comes to keeping the system sustainable.  And Councillor Charlene SanJenko says it’s important for people to see all the numbers to understand the decisions

A series of consultants reports on the financial picture for the Town’s water and sewer systems can be found on the website gibsons.ca
