Preparations for camping season begins

You’ll have to be prepared to shell out more cash if you are camping this season.
The fees at about half of the parks have gone up by a couple of dollars, following increases of up to $5 dollars per night at some parks last year.
The most expensive individual campsites top out at $35 per night in popular parks such as Goldstream, near Victoria.
The BC Parks online reservation system, Discover Camping, opened this morning.

Individual campsites in many provincial parks can be booked up to three months in advance through the Discover Camping website, or via the call centre.

Discover Camping displays the availability, layout and amenities at 122 campgrounds and more than 5,800 campsites throughout B.C.

About half of all BC Parks camping opportunities are still a first-come, first-served basis.
