Van Horne says applicants for the job were from all over Canada and the U.S.
The whole process was done in-house by council rather than through a hiring agency.
Tracy Samra joins the City with over 20 years experience working in the federal, provincial and aboriginal public sectors where she held roles as a senior government administrator, lawyer and consultant in the areas of governance, policy development and service delivery.
Samra has been serving as the City’s Interim City Manager since November.
