The Sunshine Coast Regional District is a step closer to seeing the establishment of a regional economic development entity.
Garry Nohr, District board chair, says a call for those interested in sitting on the board of a new economic development organization brought forward some quality names….
A total of 20 people have applied to sit on the board.
That list will be paired down to 8 within the next two weeks with input from all the interested parties.
The budget for the new entity, Nohr says has also been set……
Nohr figures once the final 8 board members are chosen they will likely hire someone to manage the day to day operations of the organization.
Then they’ll use information from local governments to determine exactly what direction to go.
