Nanaimo RCMP warning about fraudulent house calls

Nanaimo RCMP are warning residents to watch out for people making fraudulent house calls.

Constable Gary O’Brien says there’s been one incident reported in Qualicum Beach and one in the north end of Nanaimo, off Uplands Drive.

O’Brien says Lifeline, which makes medical alarms used by seniors, does not conduct home checks.

If someone comes to your door claiming to work for Lifeline, O’Brien says you should not let them into your house, and report the incident by calling 9-1-1.
