Human remains found on Merry Island in 2006 identified

The BC Coroners Service says a review of cold cases has helped them at least partially solve a Sunshine Coast mystery.

They say a DNA match has confirmed a partial skeleton found by the Merry Island lighthouse keeper on December 30th, 2006 was that of 65 year old Monica Tam of Burnaby.

Tam was reported missing in 2007

The BC Coroners Service is still investigating how Tam died, and how the body ended up on Merry Island.
