Operation Red Nose in Nanaimo is recruiting volunteers to help give people safe rides home around Christmas time.
At a kickoff event on Friday, Coordinator Ursula Weiss said they’re looking for about 150 volunteers to help out for at least one evening.
Weiss says they’ll be operating for nine nights this year, down from 11 last year.

Last year, volunteers were able to get over 1,500 people and their vehicles home safely.
