NDP Finance Critic Nathan Cullen was in Duncan and Nanaimo yesterday, as part of a pre-election tour of Vancouver Island.
Cullen is highlighting the loss of thousands of value-added manufacturing jobs and sawmill closures across the island.
Cullen says the NDP has a plan to create new jobs, and scale back raw resource exports. He says they also want to cut the small business tax rate by 2 per cent.
Cullen says the NDP also wants to introduce a tax credit to encourage investment in machinery and equipment used by manufacturers and sawmills.
