Nanaimo RCMP say it looks like there’s a link between racist flyers distributed in the Hammond Bay area at the end of May… and a recent case of vandalism targeting bus stop benches featuring ads for Chinese real estate agents.
Nine bus benches were spray painted with ethnic slurs and swastikas.
Constable Gary O’Brien says they want to keep the investigation in the public eye in the hope of generating fresh tips.
The flyers sent around in late May claimed to be from a group calling itself “Putting Canada First”.
