School District 69 Qualicum is cutting 16 Education Assistants but CUPE Local 3570 is calling on the board to reconsider.

Paine says they’re worried about the impact on students, because Education Assistants provide crucial support.
Paine says they’re asking the board to review whether the cuts are really in the best interest of students.
Meanwhile CUPE Local 606 in Nanaimo is also asking for a review cuts to support workers in School District 68.
