RCMP asking for information after 5th bomb threat at Nanaimo high school

Students at Woodlands Secondary School in Nanaimo had their bags checked this morning after a bomb threat was discovered at the school yesterday.

Nanaimo RCMP Constable Gary O’Brien says it alluded to the possibility of there being a bomb at the school today.

He says RCMP and SD68 officials worked together to search the school, and they were on high alert today, even though the school remained open.

O’Brien says there have been five recent bomb threats at high schools in the Nanaimo area.

O’Brien says they’re asking anyone with information to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
