Nanaimo RCMP monitoring threat at Woodlands Secondary

Nanaimo RCMP say officers are on hand at Woodlands Secondary this (Thursday) morning, following a threat targeted at the school.

RCMP aren’t discussing details, but say the threat came in late yesterday and warned of a bomb at the school May 14th..

The Nanaimo – Ladysmith School District and RCMP have been working together since then on a strategy for today.

RCMP say as well as assisting with the school opening they’ll continued to assess the situation throughout the day.

Nanaimo’s Wellington Secondary was briefly evacuated earlier this week after a threatening note was found.
