Police busy at Langdale and Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminals

West Vancouver Police say a woman who tried to sneak onto the ferry to Langdale without paying won’t face any charges.

The ferry was delayed a half-hour Monday afternoon after West Van police were called when the woman locked herself in a washroom. She was convinced to come out, but was banned from ferries for the rest of the day.

It was the second time in as many days police tied up the ferry.

Constable Jeff Palmer says West Van officers boarded the ferry Sunday night to arrest a man Sunshine Coast RCMP thought might be forcing a woman to go to the Lower Mainland.  It turns out the 30 year old man was also wanted on five warrants from Chilliwack.

He was arrested waiting to get off with the walk-on passengers.  The woman was in a car and told police she had not been forced to get on the ferry and hadn’t been harmed.

And Sunshine Coast RCMP say for their part, they had to go to Langdale Monday when a small bag was left unattended on the exit ramp. It wasn’t a hazard, but did contain a small amount of marijuana.
