May is “Invasive Plants Month” in Nanaimo and this year the focus is on English Ivy.

Recreation Coordinator Deb Beck says they want to encourage people to remove invasive plants from their properties.

She says they are also hoping people will help remove invasives from City parks.

Beck says they’re hosting an English Ivy work party in Bowen Park on May 22.

Beck says residents can also drop off invasive plants they have removed from their property, at Bowen Park from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm on May 8th and 31st.
