Cap U delays exams because of ongoing faculty strike

Capilano University is delaying the start of final exams because of the ongoing faculty strike.

University officials say they were in negotiations with the Faculty Association through Saturday and into the early hours of Sunday morning, but couldn’t reach an agreement.

Cap U had been calling on the Faculty Association to the lift the strike to allow exams to go ahead, but the Association says it’s only willing to do that if the University agrees to go to arbitration.

The exams, which were supposed to start Monday, are now set to start on the 16th.  During the strike the Cap-U campus in Sechelt is closed, but some facilities at the North Van campus are open.

Cap U has e-mailed students with the latest update.  They’re also suggesting they check the website capu.ca.
