Sunshine Coast Regional District Directors didn’t get as many answers as they were hoping for during a presentation by BC Transit yesterday.
Funding freezes are forcing the SCRD and BC Transit to re-work a three year agreement that was supposed to see service expansion, including buses to the Langdale Ferry terminal every half hour.
Instead, Myrna Moore of BC Transit told Directors they’re now focused on finding savings.
Moore says the second phase could involve looking at high cost, under-performing routes, however, it’s a bit too early to talk about service reductions.
Several Directors expressed disappointment service improvements won’t be going ahead, and urged Moore to take that message back to BC Transit and the government.
