Man arrested after sex trade workers assaulted in Nanaimo

A 54 year old man is facing charges in connection with an assault on two sex trade workers in Nanaimo.

Constable Gary O’Brien says the incident happened on the afternoon of March 5 near the intersection of Prideaux St and Victoria Rd.

O’Brien says a witness called 9-1-1 and the women did not require medical attention. Based on the description provided by the witness, RCMP made an arrest on March 13 and the man is due in court on June 16.

O’Brien says they’re still investigating and they believe the same man may have been involved in another violent incident involving sex trade workers.
