Ferry Advisory Committee Chairs met Tuesday with BC Ferries to discuss the cuts set to kick in April 1st. FAC co-chair Brian Hollingshead says BC Ferries has offered some other options in terms of the sailings they could cut, instead of the late-night and early-morning runs. However, Hollingshead says taking those alternatives to the various communities for consideration doesn’t make sense at this point.
Hollingshead says by the time on report on the public engagement sessions conducted by the Ministry of Transportation is released, there will be little time for negotiating any changes.
The Ferry Advisory Committee Chairs are hoping to discuss the issue with the Ministry of Transportation but so far they haven’t had much luck arranging a meeting.
