Some mobile home owners on the Sunshine Coast are urging the Regional District to adopt policies that would protect them if trailer parks get re-developed.
The SCRD heard recently from a delegation of owners calling themselves the “Steering Committee for a Redevelopment Policy”.
Brian Mackenznie told SCRD Directors many communities are already going in that direction.
The SCRD is going to study the idea, but the planning department says there’s already a degree of protection built into the Official Community Plan. It says mobile home parks can’t be used for anything else without a vote of the Board.
