The Federal Court is rescheduling a hearing on the Artificial Reef Society of BC’s plan to sink an old warship of Gambier Island.
The Save Halkett Bay Society is asking the court to quash the permit for the sinking.
The hearing was supposed to be today (Jan 27), but it’s been moved to February 25th and 26th.
In the meantime, there’s an injunction preventing the ship from being moved or sunk. Save Halkett Bay says it will continue to push for a new inspection of the ship, which it claims still contains hazardous chemicals.
