The BC Coroners Service says a man who died in a crash near Courtenay on Monday was from Qualicum Beach. David William Vanderhorst was killed on Hwy 19 between Fanny Bay and Courtenay.
The 30-year-old was heading north when his vehicle collided with an oncoming tractor trailer. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and RCMP Traffic Services are still investigating.
