RDN signs lease with SD69 for former Qualicum Beach Elementary School

The Regional District of Nanaimo and School District 69 have inked a 5 year lease so the RDN can use classroom space at the former Qualicum Beach Elementary School.

The plan is to turn the now-empty school building into a community hub.

The RDN is going to start offering recreation programs at the old school in the New Year, and will launch more in the spring and summer.

“The RDN’s recreation team is excited to be part of this new community gathering place at the former Qualicum Beach Elementary School,” said RDN Chairperson Joe Stanhope. “Having access to this dedicated program space will allow the RDN to work with key community partners to provide a wider variety of recreation programs in District 69.”

Check the RDN’s website for information about their recreation programs.
