Sunshine Coast Museum & Archives seeking support for upgrades

The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives has one of those problems only money can solve. Their building isn’t properly accessible to people with mobility issues.

An architect working with the museum was in front of Gibsons Council this week looking for support for a $117,000 dollar upgrade plan. The Museum’s budget falls mainly under the Sunshine Coast Regional District.

Mayor Wayne Rowe didn’t make any guarantees, but he says the Town’s SCRD Director should be able to support the plan.

As well as improving access to the exhibits, the museum needs to bring its washrooms up to standard.
