It’s going to cost a little more to put out an extra bag of garbage in Nanaimo come January. The fee will be bumped up to $3.00.
Nanaimo residents need to buy garbage tags for any bags beyond the one container limit, and can only put out two additional bags at the curb.
Garbage tag fees haven’t gone up in Nanaimo since 1993. The old orange garbage tags will still be accepted, and retailers can continue selling them for $2.00 until the supply runs out. The new blue garbage tags be $3.00 each.
