Sechelt Water Resource Centre to be fully operational in March

An important milestone for the District of Sechelt’s multimillion dollar sewer treatment plant.

The District says they successfully completed clean water testing at the Water Resource Centre on December 12th.

That means they’ll be able to start taking in actual waste water in January 2015, but it won’t be until March of next year that the plant is considered fully operational.

That’s behind schedule, but the project managers say the delay is not going to have an impact on the budget for the approximately 25 million dollar facility.

The timeline now calls for a full shut down of the old Ebbtide Plant in mid-February of 2015 and treatment operations at Dusty Road will be shut down after the WRC is commissioned.
