Events centre consultation continues

The City of Nanaimo plans to continue engaging with the public about an events centre.
The City’s Phillip Cooper says, up to now, three open houses have been held at Beban Park but officials will be expanding the outreach to other neighbourhoods beginning at the end of this month…..

Cooper says information about a referendum and the “question” to be asked on it will be distributed via a household flyer as well.
That “question” is expected to come to council to consider in the next couple of weeks.

In the meantime, there remains plenty of questions with regards to a proposed events centre for the City of Nanaimo.

Gary Weikum, a Nanaimo resident told council he believes there are some flaws in the consultant’s comparatives and suggested not all of the issues are being considered…..
Weikum suggested the City is moving too fast on the events centre and there are still too many unexplored issues.
