Nanaimo RCMP are investigating a suspicious death incident.
According to Reserve Constable Gary O’Brien, a passerby found a body in a wooded area behind the Nanaimo Curling Link near the intersection of Wall Street at Comox. It was discovered on Thursday around noon.
“We immediately attended, the area was cordoned off, and our Serious Crime Unit is taking over the investigation,” said O’Brien. “Based on the evidence obtained to-date, the death is considered suspicious.”
O’Brien says it was an adult male body that was found, and while the investigation continues, police can’t give any more information at this time. He adds that the area is safe for travel.
