Concerts in the park are returning to the City of Nanaimo this summer.
The ten free shows are taking place at six different parks, each from 6 to 7 pm.
Each night will highlight a different genre from jazz to 60s and 70s covers to Celtic punk rock.
The season starts this Friday at Maffeo Sutton Park with Alternative Rock group Cosmosaurus and closes at the Bowen Ampitheatre on August 16th with rap artist Details.
Mayor Leonard Krog says the artists participating are a great example of the talent in Nanaimo.
“The City of Nanaimo is looking forward to this year’s Concerts in the Park series,” says Krog. “The 10 artists that will be participating are a great example of the talent and musical diversity that Nanaimo is well known for. Come out and support your local artists while visiting some of Nanaimo’s most beautiful parks.”
