RCMP Nab Driver of Stolen Car

Oceanside RCMP recently spotted a stolen 2017 Subaru Forester, set up a roadblock, and awaited the driver on Highway 19a near Cook Creek.

However, when the driver spotted the roadblock, he did a U-turn and fled, eventually driving onto a forest service road, where he got the vehicle stuck in a creek bed, he fled, this time on foot.

Police dog services were called in and the man was tracked through a wooded area and arrested shortly after 5 pm on July 20th on the Inland Highway.

The suspect, 26-year-old Justin Joseph Kloss has no fixed address and was held in custody and was set to appear in court Wednesday.

At the time Kloss was apprehended, he had two outstanding warrants for property-related offences including breaking and entering.
