A public hearing will be held in the Seaside Centre in Sechelt tomorrow night (Tues) on proposed changes to bylaws regulating short term rentals in the rural areas of the Sunshine Coast.
Currently, only bed and breakfasts are regulated and the operator must live on the property.
Concerns have been raised about rentals, like Airbnb, where the owner is not supervising the activities on their property and that short term rentals could change the characters of neighbourhoods.
The proposed bylaw amendments aim to address those issues.
Anyone, who believes their interests may be affected by the proposed bylaws, will be heard or can present written submissions for the public record respecting the bylaw.
