New art exhibit has a twist

There’s a new art exhibit in Gibsons but there’s a catch if you want to see it.

Gibsons Graffiti Archive Company Owners Beau Smith and Gerald Shaffer have launched the Legal Wall Graffiti Art Exhibit.

Shaffer said it’s a Historical Walking Tour of Molly’s Lane Graffiti Walls presented in Augmented Reality.

He said to see it you have to download the app Walla.Me on your phone.

“You recreate on your screen the place that the image is and there it will be in front of you on your phone. I still move the phone out of the way to see the piece. It is so cool and it’s so hard for people to grasp right now. I mean still, technology is racing and I think this is the first time it’s ever been done.”

Shaffer said you will see over 40 historical photographs of the best Graffiti Works of Art by local artists.

Shaffer said he believes it’s the first full exhibit of curated graffiti art being presented this way.

He said the exhibit is free and they are looking for feedback on the experience.

Feedback on the exhibit can be left on our website at www.gibsonsgraffitiarchivecompany.com or [email protected]
