Residents in the Town of Gibsons are looking at a 7 and a half per cent property tax increase, or about a 75 dollar increase over last year for the average home.
Businesses will face a 3 per cent increase.
Dave Douglas, Director of Finance said the cost of municipal operations and the need to build the reserves to meet future requirements is driving the increases along with infrastructure maintenance and upgrades.
He said when you factor in the taxes for school, police, Sunshine Coast Regional District services and the Hospital District, the increase would be about 113 dollars over last year.
