Formal dresses on offer this weekend

The formal dresses have been gathered and are ready for the class of 2019.

A Sunshine Coast woman has been collecting formal dresses and the items to go along with them for the graduating class to shop from, free of charge.

Jennifer Peters said she started Dreams Come True because there were such limited options for Sunshine Coast grads when it came to getting outfitted for the important milestone.

“Some of them are actually brand new with tags still on them. Some of them are bridesmaids dresses that were never used or the order came and the dress was too small for the person that was going to use it but the dresses have been really well taken care of.”

Peters said the dress shopping event will be held at Chatelech High School this Saturday and Sunday (April 6 and 7) from 11 to 6.

Peters says teens should call 604-399-9072 to get in and that way they will have some assistance at the event.

She said the items are free and it doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, grads only need to be from the Sunshine Coast, including Powell River and will need to have student ID.

There are approximately 111 female graduates on the entire Sunshine Coast this year.
