The landmark Persephone corner in Gibsons could look a lot different if the developer who owns the property gets the green light.
Grant Gillies and his partner, of Target Homes in Vancouver, are looking to develop the site.
Gillies said they’ve got a small commercial development in mind.
“The simplest path of least resistance is to go with a small commercial structure, a little bit of parking underneath so that takes some pressure of the parking, and that’s about it.”
Gillies said he would like to see it be a pedestrian corner with something like a coffee shop with a patio on the property along with some offices.
“I’d like to do it. We have enough interest. I think we will get an application for a development permit going in the next month and, hopefully, submit.”
Gillies said since he put up the sign at the site he has had lots of feedback from residents, most of it positive, and interested parties are preferring to purchase outright a retail space.
