The District of Sechelt council has approved 45,600 dollars in community grants.
Some of the bigger ones include 5 thousand dollars to the Arrowhead Clubhouse Society, 4,210 dollars to the Sunshine Coast Marine Rescue Society, 3,000 for Special Olympics BC – Sunshine Coast, and 4,150 dollars for the Sunday in the Park with Pride Society.
Also getting some grants was the Coast Rogue Arts Society, the Coasting Along Theatre Society, the Sechelt Downtown Business Association, Sunshine Coast Community Resource Centre Society, Sunshine Coast Community Services Society and the Sunshine Coast Salmonid Enhancement Society.
The allocations left 6,400 dollars in the budget if a project, service, or event should come up that could use some funding assistance.
If that doesn’t happen the balance will be carried forward to the 2020 budget.
