Schools in the running for playgrounds seek community votes

Halfmoon Bay Elementary is reaching out to the Sunshine Coast for help.

They’re one of the ten finalists in BC who could win a $100,000 prize from BCAA to make upgrades on the playground.

Linsey Hulls says they had to make a video to enter the contest and now they need to community’s help to send in their votes.

If they win the contest, Hulls says, they’ll build an obstacle course for students and the community to use.

Also in the running, for the same 100,000 dollars is Ecole North Oyster in the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District.

There, they want to build a fully accessible playground.

You have until June 17th to submit your votes and you can vote four times a day.
