Gibsons moves two developments to public hearing

Two major development proposals in the town of Gibsons will be getting a public hearing

Council gave the Gospel Rock and Eagleview bylaws the second reading and both public hearings will happen in May.

Town Planner Lesley-Ann Staats says the developers of the 86-multi-unit proposal for Eagleview is willing to make a contribution to the town’s affordable housing reserve fund.

The developer is also willing to add $150 thousand towards a project that would make upgrades to the armours beach area.

The developers of the Gospel Rock proposal is looking to construct their project in three phases.

During each phase of the proposal, Staats says the developers will build affordable rental units.

The public hearings for both proposals will be organized at the legion in Gibsons.

The Eagleview one will happen on May 9th and the public hearing for Gospel Rock will happen on May 23rd.
