The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of a man
who died in a house fire on Gabriola Island on November 16th.
He was 64-year-old Wayne Barry McFetridge.
Members of the Gabriola Fire Department found McFetridge’s body after extinguishing at fire at a house in the 800 block of Keith Drive.
RCMP have confirmed McFetridge was due to appear in court that day. He had been charged with Possession of Child Pornography.
The BC Coroners Service, Office of the Fire Commissioner and RCMP are still investigating.
