Sunshine Coast RCMP say they saw a big uptick in calls over April and May.
Staff Sergeant Vishal Mathura went over the stats for Gibsons Council recently.
He says police don’t see the numbers as any great cause for alarm… in fact they think it’s just another consequence of the unusual weather.
The stats for June aren’t ready yet.
But Mathura says he expects the trend set in the spring to continue well into summer.
Summer is also when RCMP start initiatives like increased patrols on the water and around beaches. Mathura says they also get a lot more bylaw complaints related to noisy parties
