The province is urging extra water conservation measures after declaring a Level 3 drought on the Sunshine Coast.
The Island hit Level 3 drought conditions on June 8th.
Sunshine Coast local govenrments are already at Stage 2 watering restrictions.
Provincial officials are hoping for voluntary water use reductions of 20% or more from all municipal, agricultural and industrial users.
The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations says areas experiencing Level 3 droughts could see significant
water supply shortages later this year.
