One unit in an apartment building at 564 Fifth Street in Nanaimo was heavily damaged by fire early Saturday afternoon.
Nanaimo Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Timothy Doyle says crews managed to keep it from spreading to the units on either side.
He says the cause of the blaze in the King Arthur Court complex is still under investigation.
Doyle says ten people live in the complex where the fire happened but everyone got out safely and there were no injuries.
