The draft fishing plan for 2015 being proposed by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans has the Watershed Watch Salmon Society worried.
Executive Director Aaron Hill says DFO raised the limits last year and there was massive overfishing.
He says if the full allowance had been caught, spawning targets would have been missed by more than 40 per cent. He says salmon stocks can’t take that kind of pressure again this year.
Hill says the Society is asking DFO to scale back the harvest to pre-2014 levels.
Monday the 13th is the final day for public comments.
