Oceanside RCMP say they were acting out of an obligation to enforce the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act when they raided a Parksville marijuana dispensary last week.
Police say they seized dried marijuana, cannabis derivatives, and cash from the Phoenix Pain Management Society on April 2nd.
A 29 year old man is now facing charges.
Staff Sergeant, Brian Hunter of Oceanside RCMP says, “All businesses in our community are expected to operate within the law. In a case where they are alleged to not be doing so, we have a responsibility to our community to take action”.
Sunshine Coast RCMP say they’ll take similar action against planned dispensaries in Sechelt and Gibsons if there’s evidence they’ve started selling marijuana.
