Simons hopeful, but dubious, on value of "Rural Advisory Council"

The Clark government has announced its “Rural Advisory Council”, and while the NDP is welcoming a chance for people to have more input, they’re not convinced this is the way to do it.

Powell River – Sunshine Coast MLA Nicholas Simons is the NDP’s critic for Coastal Economic Development and Small Business.

He says he has a couple of concerns.  One is with the whole idea of a special, hand-picked, Council.

Simons says the other worry is that ferry dependent communities in the Island Coastal region seem under represented.

The 14 person committee includes only one person from the area: Jonathan Lok from Port McNeill.
