The Lifesaving Society of BC is giving a big boost to a safety program run by the City and the Nanaimo Ladysmith School District.
The Society handed over a cheque this morning for nearly 22 thousand dollars for the Swim to Survive Program.
Damon Johnston of the Parks and Rec department says it helps grade 3 students develop important, and potentially life saving, water skills.
Johnston says last year they taught around 900 kids how to “Swim to Survive”
