Klaus Fuerniss Enterprises, the company behind the George Hotel project on the Gibsons waterfront, has bought the neighbouring marina.
The move wasn’t entirely unexpected; the hotel proposal already includes plans for docks and moorage.
The Marina’s water lease is held by the Town. Mayor Wayne Rowe read a brief statement after a closed door Council meeting Tuesday.
The company says as far as marina users are concerned, there won’t be any immediate changes in the operation and they’ll set up an advisory committee with the boating community to help with the next steps.
