The Watoto Choir got an enthusiastic reception in Gibsons on the weekend.
Watoto rescues orphaned youth in Uganda, where man children are left without parents because of an AIDS epidemic. The group provides schooling, medical care and other support.
Moses Mukasa is with the Choir. He says they started as a way to spread the word about the Watoto program and raise funds, but its’ developed into something a lot more important.
Mukasa says that experience is going to help the children become leaders later in life
The Gibsons stop was the only one in our area during the Choir’s Canadian tour.
